Prerequisite: Strength or Dexterity 13 or higher

You have learned to channel your martial prowess into blasts of focused wind, and your combat stamina has increased. You gain the following benefits:

Superiority Die. You gain one superiority die, which is a d6. This die is added to any superiority dice you have from other sources. You can use this superiority die to fuel special combat abilities, including the Wind Shear ability detailed below. A superiority die is expended when you use it. You regain all of your expended superiority dice when you finish a short or long rest.If you already have superiority dice from another source (such as the Battle Master archetype or the Martial Adept feat), you instead gain one additional superiority die of the same size as those dice.

Wind Shear. When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can expend one superiority die and forgo one of your attacks to create a violent slash of wind. This slash forms a line 20 feet long and 5 feet wide extending from you in a direction you choose. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier (your choice). A creature takes damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The damage equals the number you roll on your superiority die plus the damage you would normally deal with a single attack using your weapon. This includes your ability modifier to damage, any magical bonuses from the weapon, and consistent damage bonuses from features like the Dueling fighting style. It does not include damage dice such as those from Sneak Attack, Hunter's Mark, or smite spells.
