You walk a strange path, seemingly guided by an uncanny understanding of chance, simplicity, and the surprising utility of the mundane. You might eschew grand magic for clever tricks, find profound truths in simple statements, and possess a knack for being exactly where you need to be, often with exactly what you need, even if it's just a handful of sand or a well-placed bit of nonsense. You understand that the universe is a grand game, and you play it with an unconventional flair and an unshakeable, if eccentric, confidence.

Ability Score ImprovementIncrease your Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.

  • You gain proficiency with one type of gaming set of your choice and with improvised weapons.
  • Pouch of Tricks: Your pouches and pockets always seem to contain an array of seemingly innocuous mundane items. As a bonus action, you can produce one such item that might be surprisingly useful in the current situation (e.g., a handful of sand or dust, a few ball bearings, a piece of chalk, a length of string, a small, smooth stone, a button, a dried fish). You can use this item as part of an action to attempt to create a minor distraction, help with an ability check (like using sand to improve grip or find invisible creatures), or as an improvised weapon component. The DM determines the plausibility and effect of using such an item. You can use this feature to produce a mechanically useful item a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. You always seem to have something on hand for purely roleplaying or flavor purposes, even if your mechanical uses are expended.
  • Just Lucky I Guess: When you roll a 1 on the d20 for an attack roll, ability check, or a saving throw, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll.
  • There is no magic: You have advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that would attempt to read your thoughts, discern your alignment, or magically compel you to tell the truth, as your mind is either deceptively simple or chaotically unreadable.
