Prerequisite:
Warlock (Genie Patron), 14th Level
Summary:
Your Limited Wish feature evolves, allowing you to replicate higher-level spells as your Mystic Arcanum grows. At 18th level, it becomes true Wish.
Description (Paste this into the "Description" box in D&D Beyond):
Your bond with your genie patron deepens, allowing your Limited Wish to channel greater magical power as you grow. This feat enhances the Limited Wish feature granted by the Genie patron warlock subclass.
Improved Limited Wish (14th–17th Level):
Your Limited Wish feature expands to replicate spells of higher levels. You may now use Limited Wish to replicate any spell that meets the following criteria:
-
The spell must be of a level equal to or lower than your highest Mystic Arcanum spell level, up to a maximum of 8th level.
-
The spell must have a casting time of 1 action.
-
It cannot require a material component worth more than 1,000 gp.
-
It may be from any class’s spell list (not just warlock).
-
You do not need to know the spell, and it does not need to be on your spell list.
-
You ignore verbal, somatic, and non-costly material components.
This use of Limited Wish does not count as casting the Wish spell and follows its original usage limit (once per long rest).
Example: At 15th level, with a 7th-level Mystic Arcanum, you could use Limited Wish to cast Plane Shift, Teleport, or Simulacrum, even though they aren’t warlock spells.
True Wish (18th Level):
When you reach 18th level, your Limited Wish transforms into a direct casting of the Wish spell itself.
-
You may use Limited Wish to cast the Wish spell, as if it were on your spell list.
-
This includes the ability to:
-
Duplicate any spell of 8th level or lower, or
-
Use the reality-altering effects of Wish (such as creating objects, undoing past events, resurrecting without remains, etc.).
-
If you use Wish for its reality-altering effect (beyond duplicating a spell), you are subject to its usual risks — including stress and the chance of never being able to cast Wish again, at the DM’s discretion.
You may still only use this ability once per long rest, and you must choose whether to use the Improved Limited Wish version or the True Wish version when activating the feature.
"You no longer borrow your patron’s power. You speak with the authority of the cosmos itself."
