Prerequisite: Strength, Dexterity, or Intelligence 13 or Higher

You can react to sudden developments with instinctive brilliance or overwhelming force, bending the moment to your will.

  • Force the Moment.
When something significant happens around you — an attack, movement, spell, trap, or dramatic shift — you can use an Action or Reaction to take a single improvised action. This can be anything your character could reasonably attempt in an instant:

    • Redirecting a blow by grabbing a weapon or limb.
    • Slamming a door shut with your body.
    • Catching or shielding a falling creature.
    • Disrupting a spell with sudden motion.
    • Flipping terrain, springing a trap, triggering or blocking mechanisms.
    • Using a class feature, item, or ability in a creative way.
  • Creative Resolution.
If the action is bold or uncertain, the DM may call for an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. You may include any feature, spell, or tool as part of the action, as long as it makes sense for the moment.

  • Optional Complications.
You or the DM may add a complication — such as taking damage, dropping an item, becoming vulnerable, or getting knocked prone. If you accept it, your action succeeds as closely as physically possible to what you intended — no roll needed unless the result is truly uncertain.
