"A master thief who steals more than just material possessions—he takes strength, speed, and even the essence of life itself."
The Fox's Sin of Greed is a 'Talent Feature' obtained only by Rangers and who view all those around them as game to be poached and chased or Rogues looking for an easy mark or object to be possessed. This talent can only grow as the characters prerequisite class does. This talent provides specific abilities tailored to stealing from and or hunting of others, such as;
-
Level 1 - Snatch
You gain the ability to extend an unseen force to steal small objects or hinder opponents. As a bonus action, you can attempt to disarm a creature within 30 feet, forcing them to make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity or Strength modifier). On a failure, you pull a small object or weapon into your grasp.
-
Level 3 - Physical Hunt
Your Snatch ability improves, allowing you to temporarily steal a creature's physical power. As an action, choose a creature within 30 feet. The target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, they suffer a -2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity-based checks, saving throws, and attack rolls for 1 minute. You gain a +2 bonus to those same checks and rolls for the duration. This ability can be used once per short or long rest.
-
Level 6 - Fox Hunt
You specialize in targeting vital areas, allowing you to steal strength with pinpoint precision. When you use Physical Hunt, the penalty increases to -4, and you gain a +4 bonus instead. Additionally, you can now attempt to snatch weapons or objects from enemies up to 60 feet away. -
Level 9 - Zero Sign
Your movements become so refined that you vanish from awareness entirely. As a bonus action, you can enter a state of no detection for 2 rounds
- You cannot be detected by sight, blindsight, tremorsense, or truesight unless you attack or use a Talent ability.
- You have advantage on all attack rolls, and attacks against you have disadvantage.
- You can move through enemy spaces without provoking opportunity attacks.
You can use this ability once per long rest.
