Feat (Supernatural Curse)
“A promise made beneath the earth is no less binding. The sand remembers.”
You are cursed by the spirits of Maztica for breaking your sworn agreement with the Tlincalli. This curse brands your soul, haunts your steps, and bleeds into the material world around you. Until the curse is lifted, you gain the following effects:
Spirit Stinger
At sunset each day, make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw.
-
On a failure, you become vulnerable to poison damage, the poisoned condition, and psychic damage until the next sunrise.
-
On a success, you resist the phantom sting.
Sands of Maztican Judgment
You constantly shed golden-red sand that cannot be washed or brushed away.
-
You have disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.
-
Creatures attempting to track you have advantage on any checks or saves made to do so.
Tribute Thief’s Mark
To any creature with darkvision a glowing mark appears on your forehead—etched in Tlincalli glyphs.
-
You have disadvantage on Charisma (Persuasion) checks made to influence Maztican, Tlincalli, or spiritually sensitive creatures.
-
You have advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks against such creatures, who recognize you as a branded oathbreaker.
Removal Condition
This curse cannot be lifted by Remove Curse.
You must return the stolen Maztican treasures to the Tlincalli tribe near Murann or offer a sacred artifact of equal cultural value.
A Wish spell may remove the curse, but may provoke further consequences from the Maztican spirits or Tlincalli themselves.
