You possess the rare and sacred gift of Firesight, a vision bestowed by the Flamefather and passed through the molten veins of Mount Volkan. You have glimpsed truths within flame and heard whispers in the crackling of embers. This gift marks you as a prophet, a seer of the forge’s will.
You gain the following benefits:
Volkan Intuition
You gain proficiency in Insight. If you already have it, you may instead gain proficiency in Arcana, Religion, or Persuasion.
Whenever you make an Insight check while sitting near an open flame (even a candle), you may roll with advantage once per short rest, as your mind opens to flickers of deeper truth.
Tongue of Embers
You learn to speak, read, and write Ignan (the language of elemental fire), or another Primordial dialect if already known.
In addition, you can communicate simple emotions and images through flames. A creature watching a fire near you (campfire, torch, forge) may see fleeting visions you choose to share—images of memory, emotion, or warning. This doesn’t allow full communication, but can leave a strong impression.
Vision of the Forge
When you finish a short or long rest, choose one of the following visions you glimpsed in the fire:
-
Burning Path. You gain darkvision out to 60 feet, or extend your existing darkvision by 30 feet, for 8 hours. While you using this, you can spend an action to focus on the warmth around you, allowing you to see the heat signatures of living creatures behind light cover (such as tents or thin walls).
-
Molten Judgment. You may cast Detect Evil and Good once without expending a spell slot. The spell manifests as a shimmer in the flames of any nearby fire.
-
Kindled Resolve. Choose one ability check or saving throw type. You and up to 5 allies of your choice gain a +1 bonus to the next roll you make of that type within the next hour.
