Your combat training and your experiments with magic into your steel defender have enhance your use and conception of this. You can transform your steel defender into a medium armor. This armour requires attunment and only you can do it with your steel defender; replacing her creature stats and using the following benefits:
- Your arcane combat armor will provide you with a number of temporary hit points (equal to your total Hit Points) Whenever you take damage, the armor takes the damage instead and you take this damage halved. If this damage reduces the armor to 0 hit points, you take any remaining damage. If the armor reach 0 temporary hit points it would stop giving all its benefits and while in this state it cannot regain any hit points .
- If the mending spell is cast on it, it regains 2d6 hit points. If the arcane combat armor HP reaches 0, you can use your blacksmith's tools as an action to repair it with a successful DC 10 (Smithtools) check as long as you are within 5 feet of it and then spend a 1st spell slot level or higher. The arcane combat armor becomes operative again after 1 min and regains 1 HP.
- Your AC will be calculated and replaced as follows: 12 + equal the steel defender's Constitution modifier (+2) + your dextery, add disadvantage in your stealth checks and you count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
You determine the appearance of the armour, your choice has no effect on its game statistics. The time it takes to don or doff the arcane combat armor is 5 min. If the arcane combat armor reach 0 HP you can take your action to doff it and your speed is halved. Unless the description of an infusion says otherwise, you cant infuse the steel defense armor.
