Your "connection" to the natural cycles of the world manifests in a powerful combat rhythm. You are attuned to the Flow of Seasons, entering one of four stances — Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall — each granting unique boons. You always begin in Winter after a long rest.
-
Whenever you hit with a melee attack, you gain 1 Unchained Season stack.
-
When you reach 3 stacks, they are immediately consumed, and you roll a d4. Advance clockwise on the Season Wheel a number of stances equal to the result (e.g., from Winter → Spring on a 1, Winter → Fall on a 3).
-
You then gain the benefits of the new stance. The stance persists until your next Season change or until the next long rest.
Seasonal Stances
❄ Winter
-
Passive: Winter Brings Famine: When you hit a creature with a melee attack, that creature has disadvantage on its next d20 roll before the end of its next turn.
-
Active (Bonus Action): Frost Armor — You gain temporary hit points equal to your level and a +1 bonus to AC until the start of your next turn or until you take damage.
🌱 Spring
-
Passive: They who Regenerates: When you hit a creature with a melee attack, you regain hit points equal to half your level (rounded down).
-
Active (Action): Blooming Bourgeon — You and any number of creatures of your choice within 10 feet regain 3d8 + your Strength modifier hit points. After using this ability, roll a d4 and immediately advance that many steps on the Season Wheel.
🔥 Summer
-
Passive: In the Heat of the Fight: Your melee weapon attacks deal an additional 1d8 fire and 1d8 radiant damage.
-
Active (Bonus Action): Flame Dash — You dash in a straight 10-foot line. Any creature (Large or smaller) whose space you move through must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or take 2d8 fire damage and be pushed 5 feet to the side (left or right, your choice).
🍂 Fall
-
Passive: Where the Beautiful Decays: When you hit a creature with a melee attack, it gains 1 Decay stack, lasting 3 turns. At the start of its turn, it takes 1d4 necrotic damage per stack.
-
Active (Action): Decay Consumption — Make a melee attack against a creature. If it has any Decay stacks, the attack deals an additional 1d6 necrotic damage per stack, and you regain 1d4 hit points per stack consumed. All stacks on the creature are then removed.
