Feat
Upon your death at 10th level or higher, your soul departs, leaving behind a husk imbued with an otherworldly shield. You gain the following benefits as your body is reborn with this feat, but your maximum hit points are reduced to 1 and never increase from any source (racial bonuses, level-ups, or items): (You can get this feat at level 10 but the benefits will only take effect upon your first death when you get this feat.)
-
Ethereal Ward. Attacks that meet or exceed your AC hit you, but you take no damage unless the attack is a radiant damage, or fire damage critical hit (a natural 20 on the attack roll or meets your class’s critical hit threshold, if different). Critical hits deal normal damage to you.
- Fragile Core. Your maximum hit points are fixed at 1, regardless of your previous total or any effect that would increase them. However, you still gain the benefits of temporary hit points from features, spells, or items to sustain your husk.
- Your body is hollow and light, but you can still move around normally, and your feet won't touch the ground as you hover just above 5 inches off the ground, no more, no less, taking no fall damage, even if you fall from great heights.
- You are no longer required to eat, sleep, or breathe to survive.
- You still gain the benefits of long and short rest, whether your eyes are closed or open. You only need 3 hours for a long rest and 1 hour for a short rest.
