Flame’S Tithe – Covenant Of Ash Image

Prerequisite: Pyre Cleric subclass

Your divine flame is not just a gift — it is a pact. It must be fed with judgment and mercy in equal measure. You are expected to strike down the wicked and lift up the worthy, and the fire remembers when you fail it.

Benefits

  • Sacred Quota: Over the course of seven consecutive days, you must:

    • Brand at least 6 creatures  with your Brand of the Flame feature,

    • Restore at least 21 hit points total 7  different times using a cleric spell.

  • Flame’s Favor: If you meet your quota by the end of the seventh day:

    • You gain advantage on all attack rolls that deal fire damage until the next dawn.

    • Once per long rest, when you deal fire damage, you may maximize that damage roll.

Downside – The Fire’s Judgment

If you fail to meet your quota at the end of the seventh day:

  • The Flame Turns on You:

    • You suffer 2 levels of exhaustion immediately.

    • Your fire damage from cleric spells is halved until you complete a full new 7-day quota.

    • All magical healing you receive is reduced by half until you complete a full new 7-day quota.

  • Ashen Stigma:

    • A visible mark of divine disfavor (such as glowing brands on your skin, ember-burnt eyes, or ash-streaked hair) appears, making it impossible to hide your shame from the faithful.

    • Friendly NPCs of your faith may refuse aid until you atone.

  • The Harbinger of Flame:

    • On the night of the seventh day, a CR-appropriate celestial or fiendish herald of your deity is dispatched to confront you. This entity’s purpose is not to kill outright, but to test or punish you — which could still result in death if you resist.

    • If you defeat or appease the Harbinger, your penalties end early.

Special

Failing two consecutive quotas in a row results in permanent loss of your Pyre Cleric subclass features until you undergo a dangerous and costly atonement ritual dictated by the DM.
