Prerequisite: Proficiency with shields

Benefits

1. Impenetrable Guard

  • While wielding a shield, your AC increases by +8.

  • This bonus stacks with the shield’s normal AC bonus and any magical bonuses.

2. Titanic Stability

  • You gain advantage on all Strength and Constitution saving throws while holding a shield.

  • You cannot be shoved, knocked prone, or forcibly moved unless you allow it.

3. Shield Mastery Overdrive

  • If an attack misses you while you are wielding a shield, you may use your reaction to make one melee weapon attack or shield bash against the attacker with advantage.

  • A shield bash deals 4d10 + Strength modifier bludgeoning damage and pushes the target up to 20 feet away on a hit.

4. Fortress of Retribution

  • Whenever a creature within 10 feet of you hits you with a melee attack, it automatically takes 6d8 force damage from the sheer impact rebound of your shield.

  • If the attacker crits, the damage is doubled.

5. Shielded Spell Barrage

  • Once per short or long rest, you can slam your shield into the ground to cast wall of force without using a spell slot or material components.

  • As part of this action, you may also release a 30 ft radius shockwave centered on you; all enemies in range must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + proficiency bonus + Strength or Constitution modifier) or take 8d10 thunder damage and be knocked prone.
