rerequisites: Custom Lineage; Cursed Wyrm background (or DM approval); ability to cast at least one spell; speaks Draconic.
You bear a curse that leaves the iron dragon’s power simmering beneath your flesh—metal-sense, subduing vapors, crackling sparks, and the heat of worked steel.
-
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution increases by 2 (maximum 24 under your table’s rule).
-
Draconic Endurance. You gain expertise in Constitution saving throws. (add double your proficiency bonus to Constitution saving throws).
-
Metalsense. You sense ferrous/non-precious metals (iron, steel, etc.) within 30 ft. You learn each source’s direction and rough quantity (weapon, armor, cache), including metal worn or held. This sense is blocked by 1 inch of solid metal or 1 foot of stone, and does not detect precious metals (gold, silver, mithral, adamantine).
-
Iron Dragon Breath (Shared Uses). You can exhale either breath as an action in a 15-ft cone (save DC = 8 + PB + INT). Creatures immune to magical sleep are unaffected by the sleep effect.
-
Slumbering Miasma (Sleep Gas). Constitution save. Fail: the creature falls unconscious until the end of your next turn or until it takes damage. Success: not knocked out, but speed −10 ft until the start of your next turn.
-
Spark Cone (Electrical). Dexterity save. Fail: take lightning damage and can’t take reactions until the start of your next turn. Success: half damage. Damage scales: 2d6 at 1–3, 4d6 at 4–7, 6d6 at 8–11, 8d6 at 12–15, 10d6 at 16–19, 12d6 at 20.
Uses for the two breaths are shared; see the action entries on your sheet for the pool/reset.
-
-
Iron’s Heat. You learn heat metal and can cast it once per long rest without expending a spell slot; Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for this casting. You can also cast it using your own spell slots.
-
Pseudodragon Kin. Pseudodragons are instinctively intrigued by your presence. (If your game uses familiars, your DM may allow a pseudodragon to count as a valid familiar form or treat pseudodragons as initially friendly to you.)
