Manipulating magic is a very difficult feat, accessible only in a few ways, whether that be from a God granting you the power, or a boon given by one; it is rarely encountered. Whether you studied magic and learned how it works to change it, or you're so innately good at magic you bend it to your will, you've, one way or another, gained the ability to edit your spells.
Spell Adaptation. You get a pool of Spell Adaptation points equal to your proficiency bonus, to a maximum of that number. If you would gain Spell Adaptation points from a feature, ignore it and instead increase the number and maximum number of Spell Adaptation points by 1. If you already have Spell Adaptation points, instead increase the amount you have, and the maximum you can have by 1. You regain all expended Spell Adaptation points when you finish a long rest.
Spell Transformation. Whenever you cast a spell of first level or higher that does not target a single creature and already has an area of effect, you may expend one Spell Adaptation point to change the shape in which the spell manifests. If you expend a point on a spell, you may change its range to 60 feet and change its area of effect to a different one from the Spell Transformation table below.
| New Shape | Area of Effect |
|---|---|
| Line | 60 feet long, 5 feet wide |
| Cone | 15-foot cone |
| Cube | 20-foot cube |
| Sphere | 15-foot-radius sphere |
| Cylinder | 10-foot-radius, 40-foot-high cylinder |
