You are one of, or trained with, the original masters in the art of the Bladesong. Your timeless nature and constant dedication to art, magic and war has blessed you with the innate ability to weave spells seamlessly into your every movement.
You are the pinnacle of achievement to which other practitioners of the Bladesong aspire.
Ability score increase: Increase your dexterity score by 1 and your maximum dexterity score by 2.
Elven Swiftness: Increase your movement speed by 10. This applies to all types of movement you can engage in naturally.
Action Economy: As part of your move and attack actions, you can cast an offensive or defensive spell with a normal casting time of one action or less.
You cannot cast more than two spells per round in this fashion unless you have an ability such as Action Surge, and you cannot strike more than one target with a spell cast in this manner even if your spell normally could, unless the spell you're casting has an area of effect.
You still have to spend any required components and spell slots.
- During a move action: You can cast a spell as part of your move action.
- During an attack action: You can exchange one or more of your attacks with a spell.
- Using Action Surge: When using action surge or any similar ability, you may only cast one additional spell. If you are exchanging one of your extra attacks for a spell as part of your action surge, you must follow all the above rules. If you are using your full restored action to cast a single spell, it functions as normal per the spell's description. In either case, this additional spell does not count against your Extra Counterspell ability.
Masterful Counterspell: You gain the ability to cast Counterspell at will and it is always considered prepared for you.
In addition, when you successfully counter an opponent's spell, you can choose to violently tear the weave of their spell apart, causing force damage equal to your proficiency bonus plus their spell casting ability modifier as it explodes.
This damage can interrupt concentration (normal rules apply), and only affects the countered opponent, even if they're occupying the same space as someone else. Aside from resistances or immunities, there is no way to reduce this damage.
When casting Counterspell using higher level spell slots, increase the damage done by 1 per spell level above 3rd.
Extra Counterspell: If you haven't cast more than one spell this round aside from Counterspell, and have a bonus action available, you can expend your bonus action as an additional reaction to cast a second counterspell.
Extraordinary Coordination: Your endless lifetime of training has granted you unparalleled reflexes and manual dexterity. You gain expertise in the Acrobatics and Sleight of Hand skills, and any check that requires fine motor skills as a central factor. You are also exceedingly difficult to counter, as you apply your proficiency bonus to the DC level of your spell when being countered.
Foresight of the Weave: As long as you're not incapacitated or unconscious, you have advantage on initiative checks as your awareness of the magical weave of the universe alerts you to impending danger. When surprised you still roll initiative. If you would normally act before your opponent, you can use your reaction as normal during a surprise round. You also gain proficiency in the Arcana skill if you do not already have it.
