Prerequisite: Water Genasi, Wisdom 18 or higher
Waters of Memory (Flavor Feature)
Your mind flows like the tides, carrying whispers of faces, crimes, and debts owed to justice. When you focus on a target, shimmering blue glyphs ripple faintly across your skin like liquid ink, forming symbols only you can read — names, crimes, and rewards you’ve once heard in passing. These runes fade like mist when your concentration breaks, leaving only the cool trace of water along your arms or eyes that shimmer with recognition. Some say you’ve bound your memory to the water itself — an endless, flowing archive of the wanted and the wicked.
Feature: Marked for Coin: You may only declare 1 bounty target per in-game week. However, if you come across another bounty in the world and recognise them, you may also claim them.
Your years as a bounty hunter have filled your mind — and your enchanted, waterborne memory — with an ever-growing mental ledger of the hunted and the damned.
When you encounter a hostile creature of humanoid intelligence (such as a bandit, cultist, crime boss, or other notable threat), you may spend a bonus action or 1 minute of observation (DM’s discretion) to check your internal “bounty ledger.”
-
Roll a d20.
-
Even: You recognize the target as having a known bounty on their head.
-
Odd: No record exists in your ledger or memory.
-
If you roll even, you may then roll a d100 to determine the nature of the bounty. The DM will decide the details based on your roll using the following guidelines:
| d100 Result | Bounty Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 01–30 | Alive Only | The target must be captured alive. You must deliver them to local law enforcement, a guild, or the appropriate authority. |
| 31–60 | Dead Only | Proof of death (a head, insignia, unique item, or magical essence) is required to claim the bounty. |
| 61–100 | Alive or Dead | Two prices exist — higher for alive, lesser for dead. |
The DM sets the bounty’s gold reward and the faction offering it (e.g., local sheriff, mercenary guild, noble family, or druidic enclave).
Feature: The Bounty Trail
When you’re tracking your declared bounty only, you gain the following benefits:
-
You have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks made to track that creature.
-
You have advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) checks made to gather information about them in towns or settlements.
-
You may add your proficiency bonus to Charisma checks made to negotiate payment with bounty officials, even if you are not proficient in Charisma (Persuasion).
