The rules in the Player's Handbook 2024 say that ability bonuses from Species should be ignored and that all backgrounds should give +2/+1. But Custom Lineage still gives only +2 to an ability even when used on a 2024 character. So this feat provides the extra +1 to an ability score. Note that the bonus from this feat should NEVER be to the same ability that Custom Lineage increases.
