Prerequisite: Vanae race, 8th level, must not possess the Hain Mother feat ot the The Lone Bough feat
“A Hain Mother’s words ripple through generations — her voice carried by the light of those who follow.”
Among the Vanae, the title of Hain Mother is the highest honor a woman can hold. She is not merely a parent but a founder of bloodlines — a matriarch whose descendants span tribes, oceans, or even centuries. Her wisdom is sought in matters of spirit, family, and war alike.
To become a Hain Mother is to embody the living memory of one’s people. Her bioluminescent patterns often mirror those of her offspring, said to shimmer with echoes of ancestral memory.
Game Mechanics
-
Increase your Charisma or Wisdom by 1, to a maximum of 20.
-
Allies within 30 feet of you who can see or hear you gain advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed.
-
As a bonus action, you can inspire one creature of your choice within 30 feet that can hear you. It gains temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
-
Whenever you use Calm Emotions (from Eternal Maiden or other sources), you can choose to exclude your allies from its effects.
-
When a creature under your inspiration makes a saving throw and succeeds, you regain 2 hit points (representing your spirit feeding on the strength of your kin).
Roleplay Notes
-
Hain Mothers are considered living repositories of wisdom. They often serve as council leaders, tribal founders, or mystic advisors.
-
They are usually surrounded by extended family lines, attendants, and learners who revere them as near-divine.
-
Their calm presence can settle disputes, heal hearts, and bring unity among rival groups.
-
Some believe the Sky Mother herself speaks through Hain Mothers, guiding their words in moments of crisis.
Appearance & Symbolism
-
Hain Mothers display complex bioluminescent markings, often forming spirals or concentric patterns that glow brighter when surrounded by descendants or allies.
-
Their homes or chambers are sacred places filled with woven coral charms, shells, and water mirrors reflecting their lineage’s light.
-
They are sometimes called “Mothers of a Thousand Lights.”

Design Intent
-
The Hain Mother feat combines mechanical leadership with emotional resonance — a midpoint between Inspiring Leader and Aura of Protection — but flavored for Vanae mysticism.
-
The temporary HP and saving throw support make it great for support-focused builds (bards, clerics, druids).
-
The lore emphasizes interconnection — bloodlines, mentorship, and luminous unity — key to the Vanae ethos.
