You've mastered versatile weaponry. From now on you have an expanded arsenal of moves and techniques when wielding a versatile weapon. You gain the following benefits when wielding a versatile weapon:
- Precision Strike: All versatile weapons have a bonus of +1 to hit. This bonus is increased to +2 if you're two-handing the versatile weapon.
- Defensive Stance: As a reaction on your turn, you can assume a parrying stance, provided you have a versatile weapon in hand. Doing so grants a +1 to AC until the start of your next turn. This bonus is increased to +2 if you're two-handing a versatile weapon.
- Brutal Strike: Before you make a melee attack with a versatile weapon that you are proficient with, you can choose to take a -3 penalty to the attack roll. If the attack hits, you add +5 to the attack's damage.
Creator's Disclaimer: This Feat was specifically made to fill the unique niche between GWM and the survivability/nova damage of rogues. The goal is to make versatile weapons better in damage and survivability, and even better if you're specifically using only them. Originally was named Longsword Master, but decided it's best to tone down the benefits and remake it for Versatile weapons. They all need some loving, really. After some iterations, this ended up basically becoming a varied version of the Blade Mastery UA. Anything more and it was insanely broken, anything less and you'd be angry at the world for taking this feat. Brutal Strike can be left in or removed if you don't like the damage buff - I understand some people don't really like GWM or Sharpshooter.

- Removed Style Shift. Finesse on a d10 dance dice basically turned it into the best weapon for Dex Boys if they wanted highest damage output from a single weapon strike.

Posted Jun 15, 2020I like this feat a great deal, and I like the fact that it draws from some UA concepts. One thing I was thinking though, Given that the wielder gets a +1 or +2 to hit with this feat, it feels odd that Brutal strike ONLY gives a -3 to hit. Someone two-handing their longsword would NEVER not take a -1 to hit for a flat +5 to damage. I could honestly see this feat being worth it even if Brutal Strike was removed entirely, or maybe replaced by a flat bonus to damage.
