You have trained at the secluded academy of Lom and Salt on the frigid slopes of Mount Arbora. There, you learned the secret of the perfect strike—a technique that mimics the biting cold and crystalline stillness of the mountain's peak. It is a cut that doesn't just sever, but preserves the moment of impact in a flash of chilling energy.
Benefits:
Ability Score Increase. Increase your Strength or Dexterity score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
Arboran Acclimation. You have become accustomed to the biting chill of the peaks. You gain resistance to cold damage.
Master Cut Technique. When you hit a creature with an attack using a melee weapon you are proficient with, you can choose to channel the mountain's cold into your strike.
- When you do, the attack's damage type changes to cold, and the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier, your choice).
- On a failed save: The target takes an additional 2d8 cold damage, and its speed is reduced to 0 until the end of its next turn as a layer of frost covers it.
-
On a successful save: The target takes half as much extra cold damage, and its speed is not reduced.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
