Shadow Fey Shot
Ability Description:
As a Ranger, you have learned to harness the enigmatic powers of the Shadow Fey—an unnatural conjunction of the Shadowfell and Feywild—granting you the ability to infuse your ammunition with mystical energy. When you use your Shadow Fey Shot ability, choose a projectile (arrow, bolt, or other ranged weapon) and enchant it with Shadow Fey magic. This enchantment lasts until the projectile is used or until the end of your next long rest.
You can use this ability 3 times, and it recharges after a long rest.

Shadow Fey Table
| 1d4 | Effect |
|---|---|
| 1 — Enshrouded in Darkness | The target's face is enveloped in magical darkness. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, the target is blinded for 1 minute, and attackers have advantage on attack rolls against it. The target may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. |
| 2 — Ethereal Madness | The target is disoriented by Shadow Fey magic. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, it becomes incapacitated with uncontrollable laughter, as though affected by Tasha’s Hideous Laughter, for 1 minute. The target may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. |
| 3 — Nightmare Visions | The target is plagued by disturbing visions. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, it takes 2d6 psychic damage and is frightened for 1 minute. On a successful save, it takes half damage and is not frightened. The target may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. |
| 4 — Shadowbind Entanglement | Shadowy vines and spectral fey chains erupt around the target. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, the target is restrained and takes 1d6 necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns for 1 minute. On a successful save, the target is not restrained and takes no ongoing damage. A restrained target may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. |
