Whenever you succeed on an ability check you’re proficient in you gain a +1 bonus to an amount of ability checks equal to your proficiency bonus. This bonus can apply to any ability check, but not to attack rolls or saving throws.
If you succeed on another check while you still have unused bonuses, the the bonuses refresh, but the bonus does not stack. Any remaining bonuses are lost after your next long rest.
