Heroes of the past weilded mighty weapons and objects that aided in their battles against the evils of the world, but many of these items were crafted mundane and unmagical. It was through the power of the heros who used them that they began to reflect an aspect of that power.
The power of a hero now flows through you and out into the world around you.
When you regularly use and object or weapon, over time it begins to manifest magical abilities reflective of your character and the item. As you increase in level these powers will grow stronger as will the speed at which they infuse.
