Umbral Ambusher

This mastery is not merely learned; it is a primal echo of elven grace, a connection to the silent archers and hunters of the oldest night. Only a creature of elven lineage, aged by many seasons of experience, possesses the natural agility and refined focus necessary to become a true Umbral Ambusher, turning every shadow into a firing lane.

Origin: The Shadow Pact of the Weeping Moon
To achieve the level of an Umbral Ambusher, an elf must undertake a dangerous vigil and ritual known as the Shadow Pact.
The ritual requires you to spend a full night—from the setting of the sun to its rising—perfetly motionless and hidden within a place of ancient elven sorrow or power, such as a grove touched by the Feywild or the crypt of a revered ancestor. During this time, you must maintain absolute silence and focus, holding your chosen missile weapon (a bow, crossbow, or other ranged weapon) ready but unshot.
As the moon reaches its zenith, you feel a connection to the surrounding darkness. You enter a meditative state where the line between your body and the environment blurs, allowing the very shadows to accept and cloak you. This ordeal hones your reflexes and grants you an innate understanding of the subtle ways in which light and shadow interact, forever granting you the edge in initiative and the unparalleled ability to deliver a devastating opening shot from the deepest gloom.
Feature Details
You have mastered the art of the ambush. You gain the following benefits:
Vicious Opener: You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Wisdom modifier. At the start of your first turn of each combat, your walking speed increases by 10 feet, which lasts until the end of that turn. If you take the Attack action on that turn, you can make one additional weapon attack with a ranged or thrown weapon as part of that action. If that attack hits, the target takes an extra 1d8 of the weapon's damage type.
Shadow Sight Evasion: You are adept at evading creatures that rely on darkvision. While in darkness, you are invisible to any creature that relies on darkvision to see you in that darkness.
Cloak of the Deep Dusk: Once per short or long rest, you can momentarily bend the light around you. You can take the Hide action even if you have no cover or are not obscured. Once you move or take an action other than Hiding, you are visible again. This effect cannot be used in bright light.
