Fate Reading

You may perform a Fortune Reading by spending 1 minute in quiet focus and rolling a d100.
(Examples of fortune-reading methods include tarot cards, casting bones, runestones, tea leaves, or smoke patterns.)
You may make up to 3 predictions per long rest.

01–50 — Negative Omen
51–100 — Positive Omen

Special results are described below.

Positive Omen (51–99)

You gain 2 Fate Charges, which you may use to bestow advantage on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw made by you or an ally you can see.

  • You may do this twice per prediction.

  • Unused charges fade when you make a new prediction.

Negative Omen (02–50)

The DM gains 2 Misfortune Charges, which they may use to impose disadvantage on rolls made by you or an ally.

  • The DM may do this twice per prediction.

  • Unused charges disappear when you make a new prediction.

Critical Misfortune (Natural 1)

If the d100 shows 1, fate turns violently against you.

Curse of Ruin
  • You have a disadvantage on all attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws until you perform your next Fortune Reading, and something bad is going to happen.
Critical Fortune (Natural 100)

If the d100 shows 100, destiny shines brightly upon you.

Blessing of Perfect Fate
  • You have an advantage on all attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws until your next Fortune Reading, and something miraculous can happen.

This stacks on top of your normal Positive Omen effect, but you still only gain the usual 2 Fate Charges as well.

Omen Persistence

Whether good or bad, omen effects last until your next Fortune Reading,
and they override any previous omen.

You cannot have multiple omen effects active — only the most recent one applies.
