Unseen Informant Image

As an action, you target a creature, object, or location within 60 feet. Your unseen informant watches the target for up to 1 hour, invisible, intangible, and silent. When it returns, it delivers flashes of quicksilver impressions in Hermes’ subtle symbols and gestures.

You automatically learn:

  • A summary of the target’s actions

  • Notable movements, interactions, or conflicts

  • Emotional tone or shifts in behavior

Deeper Insight

To extract more specific information from your informant, you make a Wisdom (Insight) or Intelligence (Investigation) check. The difficulty depends on how complex or hidden the information is:

  • DC 10 for simple or surface-level details, such as basic movements, objects handled, or obvious behaviors.

  • DC 13 for tactical information, like patterns, routines, or predictable habits.

  • DC 15 for personal weaknesses, nervous tells, fears, or emotional cracks.

  • DC 18 for hidden affiliations, coded gestures, secret correspondences, or concealed ties.

  • DC 20 or higher for deeply buried intentions, subtle manipulations, secret motives, or truths the target takes great effort to hide.

Revelation of the Moment

At the start of combat, you may choose one creature you can see. Hermes grants you a flash of tactical foresight, revealing one of the following (your choice):

  • Its Armor Class

  • Its highest saving throw

  • Its lowest saving throw

  • One damage resistance, vulnerability, or immunity

  • One special action or ability it is likely to use

Your first attack against this target is done with advantage.

You can use this feature once, regaining its use only after performing a meaningful act aligned with Hermes’ domains—such as:

  • A clever deception or misdirection

  • Delivering important information swiftly

  • Outwitting danger with speed or cunning

  • Negotiating, bargaining, or mediating cleverly

  • Stealing or recovering something with skill and finesse

Your DM decides when an act is significant enough to restore Hermes’ blessing.
