If you spend 48 hours over a period of 6 days or fewer studying the book’s contents and at the end of that period, you gain the following benefits permanently and the book loses this magical property for 1d100 years before returning for another reader:
- Bibbity Bobbity Boo. You gain proficiency in Performance or Deception (your choice). When you use Charisma-based checks to mislead, dazzle, or intimidate, your illusions carry the weight of otherworldly dread and charm—causing minor visual distortions like shadowed eyes, bleeding petals, or golden gleams.
- Secrets of the Unseelie Court. You learn the treacherous politics, schemes, and whispered bargains of the Unseelie fey. Choose one: Gain proficiency in History or Persuasion. You have advantage on Intelligence (Arcana or History) checks and Charisma checks made to recognize, interpret, or interact with Unseelie fey, their symbols, or their rites.
- Master of Glamour and Dread. You are initiated into the Unseelie glamour, the fey art of bending perception, beauty, and horror.
- You learn to cast the following spells, each once per long rest, without using a spell slot or material components: disguise self, fear, mirror image. *These are considered fey magic, and your spellcasting ability for them is Charisma. If you are a wizard, you may add these spells to your spellbook as if you had found them during your studies and treat them as normal.
Side Effect: Fey Attention
The Unseelie Court becomes aware of the reader and may view them as a meddler. Fey creatures encountered by the reader have a 25% chance to act hostile regardless of alignment or previous disposition.
