Prerequisite: Attunement to the Mawblade

The Mawblade’s curse deepens its bond with you, allowing famine to take root in your flesh.
You may assume one of two forms, each representing a different manifestation of hunger.

You can enter one of these forms once per long rest as a bonus action, lasting for 1 minute.
You must be wielding the Mawblade.

While transformed, your appearance becomes gaunt, shadow-thin, with hollow glowing eyes and spectral teeth swirling around your limbs.

Feast Form

You gain temporary hit points equal to twice your level immediately upon transforming.

You gain resistance to necrotic, bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

Whenever you deal damage with the Mawblade, you gain temporary HP equal to your proficiency bonus (capped at twice your max hp)

At the start of each of your turns, creatures within 10 feet of you take necrotic damage equal to your proficiency bonus.

At the end of each round, you must make a DC 12 Con save.

Fail:
You suffer 5 necrotic damage that cannot be resisted or reduced.

Starve Form

Your Mawblade attacks deal an additional 1d8 necrotic damage.

Whenever you damage a creature with the Mawblade, you restore hit points equal to half the necrotic damage dealt.

Once per turn, when you reduce a creature to 0 HP, you may teleport up to 20 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.

The first time you hit a creature each round, it must succeed on a DC 15 Con save or:

  • The creature becomes feral until the end of its next turn, attacking the nearest creature other than you.
  • The creatures movement speed is reduced by half until the end of its next turn.

Every time you are healed while in this form, you take necrotic damage equal to half the healing received. this cannot be reduced.

if your HP drops to 0, the transformation ends immediately.

When the form ends—regardless of mode—you suffer one level of Exhaustion that cannot be prevented.
