Grappler (Improved) Image
Prerequisite: Strength 13 or higher.

You’ve developed improved skills necessary to hold your own in close-quarters grappling. You have advantage on attack rolls against a creature you are grappling. In addition, you can perform the following grappling maneuvers:

  • Shoulder Spear. If you move at least ten feet in a straight line before your grapple check, you may use a bonus action to attempt to knock an opponent prone as part of your grapple check. If your grapple check exceeds your opponent's contested check by 5 or more they gain the restrained condition for one round. Your character becomes prone after using this maneuver.
  • Head Smash. You may use an attack action to try and stun a creature grappled by you. To do so, make another grapple check. If you succeed the target must make a constitution saving throw equal to 8 + your proficiency modifier + your strength modifier or be stunned for one round. If you're able to make multiple attacks with the Attack action, this attack replaces one of them.
  • Wrist Grab. Whenever you attempt a grapple check against a creature with humanoid forelimbs, as a bonus action you may attempt to lock their arms with your brute strength as part of your grapple check. If you are successful, your target may not make attacks with their arm(s), including the use of weapons they may be holding, or natural attacks such as claws as long as they are grappled. You may attempt to grab one or two forelimbs when you use this feature. If you are attempting to restrain two forelimbs, your target has advantage on their contested check.

If successful, the target is still grappled and the benefits of Wrist Grab persist as long as the creature is still grappled by you. Additionally, the restraint of their forelimb does not prevent them from making attacks with additional appendages or certain unarmed attacks at the Dungeon Masters discretion.

Note that these abilities do not negate the requirement that any creature you are grappling be no more than one size category larger than you.
