You have learned the rudiments of vault-forging, allowing you to create and bind a minor magical construct powered by residual vault essence.
Construct Creation
You create a Tiny vault construct companion with the following limitations:
-
Size: Tiny
-
Creature Type: Construct
-
Challenge Rating: 0
-
It must be a non-combatant design (utility, scout, assistant, or support role)
You choose its appearance (floating rune-orb, clockwork beetle, stone sprite, shard-lit wisp, etc.).
Vault Construct Companion
Your vault construct uses the following rules:
-
It acts on your initiative and obeys your verbal commands.
-
If you give it no commands, it takes the Dodge action.
-
It has hit points equal to 5 + your proficiency bonus.
-
It has an AC of 11 + your proficiency bonus.
-
It cannot make weapon attacks.
Construct Functions
Choose two functions when you take this feat. You may change one function each time you finish a long rest.
Choose from the following:
-
Scout Form – The construct gains Darkvision 60 ft and proficiency in Perception and Stealth.
-
Vault Sense – The construct can detect vault magic, shardlings, or active vault effects within 30 ft.
-
Lightbearer – The construct sheds bright light in a 10-ft radius and dim light for another 10 ft (you can suppress or resume this as a bonus action).
-
Courier Node – The construct can carry items up to 10 lb and can deliver items to a creature you can see within 30 ft.
-
Stabilizer Glyphs – While within 5 ft of the construct, you gain advantage on saving throws against falling.
-
Mender Runes – Once per long rest, the construct can restore 1d4 hit points to a creature it touches as an action, then the construct goes inert for 1 hour.
Rebuilding the Construct
If your vault construct is reduced to 0 hit points, it becomes inert rather than destroyed.
You can rebuild/restore it during a short rest by expending 10 gp in materials, restoring it to full hit points.
Limits
-
You may only have one vault construct created by this feat at a time.
-
The construct cannot benefit from spells or effects that target beasts.
