Prerequisite: Dexterity or Wisdom 13 or higher
Your combat instincts are sharper than most, allowing you to react and adapt faster than ordinary warriors.
Benefits
Choose one of the following combat focuses when you gain this feat:
-
Weapon Precision
-
Defensive Awareness
-
Tactical Reflexes
-
Combat Discipline
You gain the benefits associated with the chosen focus.
Weapon Precision
-
You gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls with weapon attacks.
-
This bonus does not stack with features that grant a flat bonus to attack rolls (such as Archery Fighting Style).
Defensive Awareness
-
You gain a +1 bonus to Armor Class while wearing armor or using a shield.
-
This bonus does not apply if you are incapacitated.
Tactical Reflexes
-
You gain a +1 bonus to Initiative.
-
In addition, once per round, when you fail a Dexterity saving throw, you may roll a d4 and add the result to the save (after seeing the roll but before knowing the outcome).
Combat Discipline
-
Once per turn, when you suffer disadvantage on an attack roll, you may ignore that disadvantage (you still roll only one d20).
-
You can use this benefit a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Improved Battle Instinct (Optional Upgrade)
If your table allows feats to be taken multiple times, you may select Battle Instinct a second time, provided you have Dexterity or Wisdom 16+.
When you do:
-
Choose a different combat focus from the list above.
-
In addition, the maximum penalty you can suffer from disadvantage effects is reduced:
If multiple effects would impose disadvantage, you ignore all but one source.
