Inspiration is replaced with Luck Points.  Every character has a special resource called Luck. You use Luck to influence the result of any check.

  • Every time a character misses an attack or a saving throw, they gain one luck point.
  • They can only hold up to 5 luck points. If they gain a 6th luck point, they roll 1d4 and that's how many luck points they have now.
  • They can spend one luck point to get +1 to a D20 roll after they roll.
  • They can spend 3 luck points to re-roll a d20 check.

GMs can award luck points for good roleplaying, brave behaviour, a clever idea, or pursuing an interesting—rather than optimal choice—and any other time we might award inspiration, but players will primarily gain luck with missed attacks and saving throws (not ability checks.).  Luck can’t stop a critical miss on a 1 or create a critical hit by adding up to 20. Note that Luck gained from a failed attack or save can’t be used to enhance the same roll that generated the Luck—you only accrue Luck after you officially fail the roll
