You have mastered the culinary arts, learning to prepare food that can sustain, heal, and even grant extraordinary benefits. You gain the following benefits.
-
Ability Score Increase. Increase your Constitution or Wisdom score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
-
Cook’s Utensils. You gain proficiency with cook's utensils if you don't already have it.
Replenishing Meal. As part of a long rest, you can prepare a special meal if you have cook's utensils and sufficient ingredients on hand. You can prepare enough of this food for a number of creatures equal to 6 + your proficiency bonus.
A creature that eats this food gains temporary hit points equal to your character level + your proficiency bonus, plus any additional modifiers from ingredients provided by your Mise en Place feature.
During a short rest, a creature can consume one of the remaining portions to regain these temporary hit points.
Any uneaten portions spoil at the end of your next long rest.
Bolstering Treats. Over 1 hour of work or when you finish a long rest, you can cook a number of treats equal to your proficiency bonus if you have ingredients and cook's utensils on hand. These special treats last for 8 hours after being made. A creature can use a bonus action to eat one of these treats, gaining temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus.
Mise en Place. When creating your Replenishing Meal, you can incorporate specially gathered ingredients. You can prepare up to 3 ingredients for the meal; any additional ingredients have little to no effect. Ingredients from the same category do not stack; for example, using three different meats grants only the highest rarity bonus. The GM determines which category an ingredient belongs to if it isn't straightforward.
Depending on an ingredient's rarity, the benefits it provides when used in the meal are increased (subject to the GM's discretion).
Hazardous Ingredients. When you add monster parts or poisonous creatures as part of your Mise en Place, you risk poisoning the meal.
To safely prepare these hazardous ingredients, you must succeed on a DC 10 + the total rarity value of any poisonous or monstrous ingredients used cook's utensils check. Alternatively, you can cast Purify Food and Drink or add a special ingredient (subject to the GM's discretion) to counteract the hazard, such as using antidote garlic to neutralize poisonous ooze jelly, automatically succeeding on the check.
On a failed check, the Replenishing Meal becomes poisonous. A creature that eats the poisonous meal must make a DC 10 + the total rarity value of the hazardous ingredients used Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is poisoned until it finishes a long rest.
