Hell-Touched Nature Image

The flames of Phlegethos have left their mark on you. Your eyes are red, your hands are covered in a black lava-like crust showing a red glow through the fissures, and your body radiates a gentle warmth. This feat causes the following effects:

Your eyes are shining red pinpoints, which flare up like tiny burning suns when your emotions are high.

You cannot safely handle or wear flammable materials for any length of time; paper starts to blacken and char, and wooden weapons start to smoulder and eventually catch fire in your hands. Depending on the manner in which this feat was gained, you have likely had the opportunity to obtain a pack made of fire-proof materials, for example the fireproof, velvety brown leather of a spinagon’s wings. When this feat is used with a class which has an ability involving physical contact (e.g. a Paladin's Lay on Hands), the effect is the same, but the recipient experiences it as a deep, almost uncomfortable heat flowing through them.

You have resistance to fire damage and vulnerability to cold damage.

Hell's Light; utility. You have the ability to emit a gentle light from one hand at will. This is bright enough to light your surroundings with bright light for 10 feet and dim light for a further 10 feet in all directions.

Hell's Touch; unarmed attack modifier. The lava-like crust that covers your hands allows you to deal 1d6 fire damage on a successful unarmed attack.

Hell's Rage; action. In very rare, story-appropriate circumstances, your temper flares. You anger gets the better of you, and the heat of Phlegethos flows through the fissures in your hands, burning with white heat and causing moderate to severe burns on physical contact. On a successful Unarmed attack or Grapple, you may deal 2d6+CON fire damage, increasing to 3d6 at 5th level, and adding a further 1d6 every 5 levels thereafter, up to a max of 6d6 at level 20. This ability is an instinctive ability which is not under your control, and as such can only be used in rare circumstances when events cause you to become unusually incensed. However at the DM's discretion, it may be possible for you to gain a measure of control over this ability over time.

Infernal Blacksmith; level at DM's discretion. As you learn to control your hell-touched nature, you find your heat-tolerance increases. You can now hold white-hot metal in your hands with no ill effects, making smithing a much less dangerous occupation for you. You have advantage on all checks related to blacksmithing.
