Supernatural Blessing
This blessing remains in effect until you finish a long rest on land.
While this blessing is active, you gain the following benefits:
-
You gain a swim speed equal to your walking speed.
-
You can breathe underwater.
-
You can speak and hear normally underwater.
-
You gain darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision, its range increases by 30 feet.
-
You have resistance to cold damage.
-
You are immune to the harmful effects of deep-sea pressure, allowing you to survive and function at extreme depths without taking damage or suffering exhaustion.
While underwater, you can move freely in three dimensions, including vertically, without expending extra movement. Swimming does not cost additional movement.
This blessing allows you to function normally underwater; however, environmental effects such as currents, visibility, terrain, and depth-based hazards still apply.
Movement at Extreme Depths
At great depths, movement may become more difficult due to environmental conditions. These effects are determined by the current Depth Layer rules.
Flavor: Physical Adaptation
The Blessing of the Sea physically alters your body to survive the deep ocean.
You have full control over the appearance of this adaptation. Examples include, but are not limited to:
-
Mermaid- or siren-like traits
-
Laneshi-style aquatic features
-
Webbing, fins, gills, or bioluminescence
-
Cephalopod or other sea-creature hybrid traits
These changes are purely cosmetic and grant no additional mechanical benefits beyond those listed above. They will also revert to your original form if needed to resume walking on land should you leave the water and return as soon as you return to the water. (Should the transformation alter your form in such a way that you lack legs to walk.)
Important:
Any limbs, tentacles, or other adaptations gained through this blessing do not grant extra attacks, additional limbs, special actions, or unique abilities beyond the swim speed and traits already provided.
