Devastating Strike

Devastating Strike (Weapon Mastery Feature)

(Intended as an optional base feature for Fighters, Barbarians and Paladins)
At 5th level, when you gain Extra Attack, your mastery of heavy weapons lets you commit fully to a single, crushing strike.

• Who: Fighters, Barbarians, Paladins
• Weapon: Any weapon with both the Two-Handed and Heavy properties that you have a weapon mastery in
• Effect: Whenever you take the Attack action and make a Melee Strength-based attack with a qualifying weapon, you may replace the weapon mastery effect with Devastating Strike.
• You can merge all of your Extra Attacks into a single strike.
• Roll once to hit.
• Damage includes:
• All weapon dice from the merged attacks
• Strength modifiers from each merged attack
• Any applicable on-hit rider damage (Divine Smite, Rage bonus, etc.)
• Add your proficiency bonus to both the attack and damage rolls.
• This attack counts as all of your Extra Attacks for features that rely on them or are restricted by them.
  
  

Instead of flinging your weapon multiple times, you gather all your skill, strength, and focus into one devastating strike — a blow that can fell a giant or smash through a door of stone. The risk is high, but the reward is legendary.
