Aura Of The Necromancer Image

Prerequisite: Spellcasting; The ability to Bind, Charm, Conjure, Dominate, Summon, or otherwise Create and/or Control a creature.

Through countless sleepless nights practicing your craft as a necromancer, you have delved deep into forbidden lore and occult practices. Your studies led you to uncover hidden and fragmented texts, long erased from common knowledge. From these ancient writings, you mastered forgotten summoning techniques once used by primordial arcanists. The dead, the bound, and the unseen answer your call with unsettling familiarity.

You can use an action to unleash a necromantic aura centered on yourself, willingly taking 1d6 necrotic damage as the power manifests. The damage received is reduced from both your current HP as well as you maximum HP. You regain this HP at the end of a Long Rest. As your mastery deepens, you may intensify this aura by increasing the damage to 1d12 or 2d8, unlocking additional stronger effects. The aura extends in a radius equal to your spellcasting modifier × 15 feet, lasts for 1 minute, and can be dismissed early as a bonus action. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses after a long rest.

  • Aura of Gloom (1d6).
Shadows within the aura stretch and writhe as if alive, whispering with unseen motion.
Effect: Creatures under your control gain bonus hit points equal to your Spell Attack Bonus.

  • Aura of Fear (1d12).
Plants slowly wither and animals grow restless, refusing to linger within the oppressive presence.
Effect: Creatures under your control gain a bonus to their attack rolls equal to your Spell Attack Bonus, and your own attacks deal an additional 2d6 necrotic damage.

  • Aura of Blood (2d8).
Crimson sigils mark the edge of the aura, pulsing with dark light as spilled blood crawls toward them, glowing brighter with each death.
Effect: Creatures under your control gain a bonus to AC equal to your Spell Attack Bonus. Additionally, if a creature under your control is within reach, it may use its reaction to make an attack against a creature that attempts to harm you.
