Divine Quiver: Arrow Of The Unbound Wil Image

3rd-level Evocation

Casting Time: 1 action (see Focused Shot)
Range: 120 ft
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous
Classes: Wizard (Vivec exclusive)

You manifest a bow of condensed divine energy and loose a single arrow of pure will, guided by intellect rather than muscle.

Make a ranged spell attack using your Intelligence modifier. On a hit, the arrow deals force damage by default.

Base Effect

  • Damage: 3d8 force

  • This spell creates its own ammunition and does not require a physical bow.

  • The arrow counts as magical for overcoming resistance and immunity.

Quiver Charges

When you learn this spell, you gain a pool of Quiver Charges equal to:

Proficiency Bonus + Constitution modifier (minimum of 2)

  • You regain all expended charges on a long rest

  • Quiver Charges are only usable for this spell

Damage Type Modulation

When you fire the arrow, you may expend 1 Quiver Charge to change the damage type from force to one of the following:

  • Radiant

  • Necrotic

  • Lightning

  • Cold

  • Fire

  • Psychic

The damage type must be declared before the attack roll.

Overcharge Shot

When you cast this spell, you may expend any number of Quiver Charges (up to your proficiency bonus).

For each charge expended:

  • Increase the damage by +1d8

  • The damage type matches the arrow’s chosen type

Focused Shot (High Risk / High Reward)

Instead of firing immediately, you may focus the shot, compressing divine energy into a single, devastating arrow.

How It Works

  • You begin focusing as an action

  • On each of your turns, you may spend your action to continue focusing (up to 3 total turns)

  • While focusing:

    • Your speed becomes 0

    • You cannot take reactions

    • You must maintain concentration as if concentrating on a spell

While Focusing

  • Each full turn spent focusing adds +2d8 damage

  • These dice are in addition to Overcharge dice

  • You may still spend Quiver Charges normally

Release

When you release the arrow:

  • If the attack hits, it is treated as a critical hit

  • All damage dice are doubled except flat bonuses

Catastrophic Disruption

If, while focusing:

  • You take damage

  • You are forced to move

  • You fail a Constitution saving throw (DC = 10 or half the damage taken, whichever is higher)

Then:

  • The shot fails

  • The arrow detonates harmlessly

  • You take 1d6 force damage per turn spent focusing

  • The spell slot and any expended Quiver Charges are lost
