Tongue Of The Hidden Anchor Image

Frenchie did not grant you power — she removed the silence placed upon your cadence. Your voice now carries a subtle authority that reality itself hesitates to contradict.

Ability Score Increase

Increase your Charisma by 1, to a maximum of 20.

Speak the World Steady

Action — PB/LR (2 uses at level 4)

When a visible anomaly occurs within 60 ft, you may attempt to stabilize it through spoken cadence.

Make a Charisma (Performance) check.

Suggested DCs:

  • Minor distortion — DC 12

  • Dangerous instability — DC 14

  • Severe rupture — DC 16

On a success, choose one:

  • Dampen: Reduce the anomaly one severity tier.

  • Contain: Prevent it from spreading for 1 minute.

  • Clarify: The DM gives one clear truth about what the anomaly is doing or becoming.

On a failure:
The anomaly does not worsen — your voice still buys a moment of resistance.

Veil the Ripple

Reaction — Spend 1 Bardic Inspiration

When an anomaly triggers within 60 ft, you blur its metaphysical “signature.”

For the next 10 minutes:

  • Magical tracking attempts are made at disadvantageor

  • Detection DC increases by your Bardic Inspiration roll

(DM chooses what fits the system.)

Narrative effect:
Reality records the event as coincidence, environmental error, or misremembered detail.

Stabilize (Counterspell-Adjacent)

Keeps him relevant in tense moments without stepping on wizard toes.

Reaction — 1 / Short Rest

When an anomaly produces a hostile magical effect you can see within 60 ft, make a Charisma (Performance) check.

DC = 10 + severity tier
(typically 12–16 at this level)

Success:

  • Interrupt the effect

  • Downgrade the anomaly one tier

You may spend a Bardic Inspiration to use this again before resting.

Passive: Stabilizing Presence

Your cadence subtly presses reality toward coherence.

When an anomaly appears within 30 ft, it cannot escalate until the end of its first round.

No action required.
