Your body was reconstructed around an unstable Feenstein core. Ordinary rest does not restore your systems properly, but Feenstein can replenish you in ways other magic cannot.
Impaired Arcane Physiology
When you regain Hit Points from a spell or magical effect other than Mending, you regain only half the normal number of Hit Points.
Feenstein Reliance
You do not regain Hit Points, Hit Point Dice, expended spell slots, or expended uses of features when you finish a Short Rest or Long Rest.
A Long Rest still provides its other normal benefits, including reducing your Exhaustion and allowing safe Feenstein Consumption.
Feenstein Consumption
During a Long Rest, you may safely consume a number of Feenstein shards equal to your Proficiency Bonus. Consuming each shard takes a number of minutes equal to twice your Proficiency Bonus.
For each shard consumed, choose one of the following benefits. You may choose the same benefit more than once.
-
Structural Recovery.
You regain a number of Hit Point Dice equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you may immediately spend any number of your available Hit Point Dice as though you had finished a Short Rest. -
Spell Lattice Recharge.
You regain expended spell slots with a combined level equal to your Proficiency Bonus. -
Core Realignment.
You regain all expended uses of your non-spellcasting class features that normally recharge on a Short Rest or Long Rest.
Feenstein Overconsumption
During a Short Rest, you may attempt to consume a Feenstein shard outside your normal safe limit.
When you do, make a Constitution saving throw. The DC equals 12 + 3 for each shard you have already overconsumed since your last Long Rest.
On a success, you gain the chosen benefit, but also gain 1 level of Exhaustion.
On a failure, you gain 1 level of Exhaustion and gain no benefit.
