The Calamity is not a distant force — it seeps through fractures in reality, and through you.
All creatures are, to some degree, susceptible to its influence. Some merely brush against it. Others become conduits.
This feat defines how Calamity affects creatures within this campaign.
Mark of Calamity
Certain effects can brand a creature with the influence of the Void.
While a creature is affected by Mark of Calamity:
- The creature regains only half the Hit Points from magical healing
- The first time each turn the creature takes damage, it takes an additional 1d4 psychic damage
A Mark of Calamity lasts for the duration specified by the effect that applied it.
Stacking Marks. Marks of Calamity can accumulate while their durations overlap. If you receive multiple Marks of Calamity, their penalties and onuses stack: you suffer the additional psychic damage for each active Mark the first time you take damage each turn, and you suffer the healing reduction for each active Mark as specified by the DM. Each Mark expires independently after its own duration.
Disruption of Calamity
Manipulating the Void comes at a cost.
When a feature, spell, or ability triggers Disruption of Calamity, the user suffers necrotic damage defined by that effect.
This damage:
- Ignores resistance and immunity
- Cannot be reduced in any way
Calamity Sensitivity
When you are Near Death, the influence of the Calamity intensifies:
- Any damage you take from Disruption of Calamity increases by one step
(typically from 1d4 → 1d6, or as defined by the effect)
Narrative Clause
Repeated exposure to the Calamity may alter body, mind, or soul.
The extent of these changes is determined by the DM.
