Prerequisite: The ability to cast at least one spell, and a connection to the Shadow dimension.

The mark on your soul has deepened. You are no longer just "touched" by the shadow; you are becoming a conduit for the Veiled Three. The mists recognize your authority, sparing your mind while granting you the keys to the hidden paths.

  • Ability Score Increase: Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.

  • Shadow Sovereign: You are a master of your own darkness. You gain the following protections:

    • You are immune to the Price of the Shadow (Shadow Madness) mechanic.

    • You are immune to the psychic damage caused by lingering in the Shadow dimension.

    • When you or an ally within 30 feet takes necrotic damage from the "exit toll" of your shadow spells, you can use your reaction to grant that creature resistance to that instance of damage.

  • The Veiled Progression: As your power grows, the Veiled Three grant you deeper access to their domains. You learn the following spells at the indicated levels. You can cast each of these spells once without expending a spell slot, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. You can also cast these spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.

Character Level Spell Learned Domain
5th Moros’s Jagged Tear (3rd level) Moros (Death)
9th The Veiled Breach of Fae’Lun (5th level) Fae'Lun (Dreams)
13th Xylos’s Perfect Gateway (7th level) Xylos (Trickery)

  • Bond of the Anchor: You have a supernatural knack for tethering others to reality. When you perform a Co-Op Ritual with an Anchor, the ritual takes only 5 minutes extra (instead of 10), and the Anchor gains temporary hit points equal to your level + your spellcasting modifier upon completion.

The Price of the Shadow

In Aethelgard, the shadow is not an empty void, but the literal domain of the "Veiled Three" (Moros, Fae'Lun, and Xylos). To call upon their power outside of the Veiled Lands is to defy the spirit of the Pax Divina.

  • The Check: Whenever you cast one of these spells as an action, you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your own Spell Save DC. On a failure, you move up one level on the Shadow Madness Track.

  • The Exception: Characters with the Touched by the Shadow feat are recognized by the mists and succeed on this save automatically.
