You have formed a deeper bond with your wildfire spirit, allowing it to shield you and your allies with protective embers. 
While youre Wildfire Spirit is summoned, it gains the following additional ability:
When you or a creature you can see is within 30ft. radius of your Wildfire spirit, your Wildfire spirit reduces damage.
The spirit can use your reaction to reduce that damage by 1d6+ your proficiency bonus.
