* At the start of each turn, I gain 3 ki points
* When I hit a creature, I gain 1 additional ki
* When I reduce a creature to 0 HP, I gain 5 ki
If I ever exceed my normal ki maximum:
* I begin to overload, gaining advantage on all rolls
* At the end of my turn, I deal force damage equal to my monk level to all creatures within 10 feet, including allies
⸻
Drawback: Fractured Vessel
My body and mind were never meant to hold this much power, and eventually, it shows.
At the end of each of my turns while I am overloaded, I must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC = 10 + the number of ki points above my maximum) or suffer one of the following effects (my choice, or the DM’s if we want chaos):
* I take force damage equal to twice the excess ki points
* I gain one level of exhaustion
* I lose control of my ki, and all excess ki points are immediately lost, triggering an additional burst of force damage around me
If I remain overloaded for 3 consecutive turns, the strain peaks:
* I automatically fail the saving throw
* I am stunned until the end of my next turn as my body locks up trying to contain the surge
⸻
Flavor
I am no longer managing my ki. I am containing it. Every fight becomes a negotiation between power and collapse, and the longer I push, the more I risk becoming the blast radius instead of the warrior.
