You have drawn the attention of the Queen of Air and Darkness. Whether by fate, bargain, or curiosity, your story has become… worth watching.
You gain the following benefits:
A small black diamond sigil, like a shard of frozen night, rests within your pupil.
The mark is invisible to ordinary sight, but is visible to:
- creatures under the effects of Detect Magic
- creatures with truesight
- creatures native to the Feywild, at the DM’s discretion
To such observers, the diamond glints within your eye as though something distant is looking back.
Fey-Touched Your creature type is considered Fey in addition to your other types for the purpose of spells and effects. You also learn to speak, read, and write Sylvan, though at times the words come unbidden, as if whispered to you from somewhere far beyond.
You can invoke the Queen’s attention, wrapping your fate in unseen thorned vines.
- You can cast Gaze of Thorns (the spell) without expending a spell slot.
- Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
Your spellcasting ability for this spell is Charisma.
Each time you use the spell’s benefit, the Queen peers deeper into your story.
Fragments of your past and inner self may be revealed to her, as determined by you or the DM:
- a fear
- a regret
- a desire
- or a memory tied to strong emotion
These moments may subtly manifest in the world—your shadow shifting, your voice betraying a whisper, or a chill passing through the air—as the Queen’s interest in you deepens.
“Do not squander this gift. I have begun to watch… and I do so rarely.”
