Domain Expansion
Domain Expansion is the highest expression of a Curse Sorcerer’s cursed technique. By expanding your innate domain into the world, you create a cursed space governed by your own rules, instincts, and ability score tendencies.
When you gain access to Domain Expansion, choose one Domain type from the options below. Each Domain type corresponds to one ability score. If the corresponding ability score is 18 or higher, your Domain is complete. If the corresponding ability score is lower than 18, your Domain manifests as an incomplete Domain.
Domain Uses
Starting at 5th level, you gain access to Domain Expansion.
Domain Expansion uses are not restored when you finish a long rest. Instead, your available uses are determined by your Curse Sorcerer level.
When you gain a level in this class, your available Domain Expansion uses reset to the number shown in the Domain Expansion Uses table. Any unused uses from the previous level are lost.
| Curse Sorcerer Level | Domain Expansion Uses Per Level |
|---|---|
| 5th–6th | 1 |
| 7th–12th | 2 |
| 13th–17th | 3 |
| 18th–20th | 4 |
Domain Types
| Domain Type | Corresponding Ability Score | Complete Domain Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Elemental Domain | Constitution | Constitution 18 or higher |
| Amplifier Domain | Strength | Strength 18 or higher |
| Mise-en-Scène Domain | Charisma | Charisma 18 or higher |
| Summoner Domain | Intelligence | Intelligence 18 or higher |
| Soul Manipulation Domain | Wisdom | Wisdom 18 or higher |
| Time-Warping Domain | Dexterity | Dexterity 18 or higher |
General Domain Rules
Domain Area
When you expand your Domain, choose a radius of up to 120 feet. The Domain manifests as a spherical area centered on a point you choose within range. Once the Domain has manifested, its size cannot be changed.
A creature inside the Domain when it manifests is considered a participant.
Complete Domains
A complete Domain creates a closed cursed barrier around its area. This barrier prevents creatures inside the Domain from leaving by nonmagical means and prevents external intervention by nonmagical means.
Complete Domains are often spherical, light-devouring spaces. Their outer barriers are typically black, absorb light, and prevent outside creatures from gathering reliable information about what is occurring within.
Incomplete Domains
If your corresponding ability score does not meet the required threshold for your Domain type, your Domain manifests in an incomplete state.
An incomplete Domain lacks fully closed borders or barriers. Creatures can leave the affected area by ordinary movement, and external creatures can potentially interfere with the Domain from outside its area.
In addition, effects created by an incomplete Domain cannot extend beyond the Domain’s area. Any Domain-created substance, force, condition, shadow, morphing effect, speed effect, or similar manifestation that would move beyond the Domain’s boundary immediately loses its Domain-enhanced properties.
Domain Save DC
If a Domain feature requires a saving throw, the save DC equals:
8 + your proficiency bonus + the modifier of the ability score corresponding to your Domain type
Maintaining a Domain
Each Domain type specifies how long it takes to expand and how long it can last once manifested.
While channeling a Domain, you cannot take actions other than the action required to expand the Domain. If you lose more than half your hit point maximum while channeling, the Domain fails to manifest.
If you are reduced to 0 hit points while inside your own Domain Expansion, the Domain immediately ends.
You can end your Domain at any time without using an action.
Elemental Domain
Examples: Coffin of the Iron Mountain (Jogo), Horizon of the Captivating Skandha (Dagon), Shining Sea of Flowers (Hanami), Yuji Itadori
Elemental Domains are centered around a specific natural or quasi-natural substance, such as fire, ice, lightning, poison, frost, plasma, blood, or a similar force. Once expanded, the Domain becomes a massive arena shaped from that substance, giving the user overwhelming control over the environment.
Elemental Control
When you expand this Domain, choose the substance or element that forms it. The damage type of this Domain’s features is determined by the chosen element, at the DM’s discretion.
While the Domain persists, the chosen substance has a detrimental effect on any participants you choose. Each affected participant takes 2d6 damage of the Domain’s damage type at the start of each of its turns.
You are immune to the damaging effects of your own Elemental Domain. Your allies are not immune unless another feature grants them protection.
Shape
As a bonus action while the Domain persists, you manipulate the chosen substance inside the Domain. You can bend, shape, redirect, expand, condense, or weaponize it in any form you choose.
If you use this feature to attack, it is considered a Guaranteed-Hit.
Guaranteed-Hit
When you shape the Domain’s substance into an attack, you create a form such as a wave, pillar, wall, blade storm, horde of flying spears, crushing current, or similar manifestation. The shaped substance must fit within a space no larger than a 60-foot cube.
Each creature affected by the shaped substance must make a Dexterity or Constitution saving throw, as determined by the DM based on the form of the attack. On a failed save, a creature takes 3d10 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus damage of the Domain’s damage type. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage.
Although this feature is a Guaranteed-Hit, it does not allow you to exempt allies from the effect unless another feature says otherwise.
Augmented Perception
While inside your Elemental Domain, you have advantage on saving throws.
Duration
This Domain takes 2 turns to expand. During those turns, you must channel the Domain without taking any other action and without losing more than half your hit point maximum.
Once manifested, this Domain lasts for up to 3 turns.
You can end this Domain at any time without using an action.
Incomplete Domain Effect
If this Domain is incomplete, its substance and in-Domain effects cannot affect anything outside the Domain’s area. Any shaped substance that crosses the Domain’s boundary immediately loses its Domain-enhanced properties.
Amplifier Domain
Examples: Malevolent Shrine (Sukuna), Authentic Mutual Love (Yuta Okkotsu)
Amplifier Domains are simple, brutal, and overwhelmingly efficient slaughterhouses. They display the true limits of a user’s strength, cursed energy output, and control.
These Domains are designed to maximize the user’s cursed technique and remove the natural restrictions placed on their abilities.
Amplified Output
While this Domain persists, you can activate or use your cursed techniques and class features without expending uses, charges, or similar resource limitations.
This benefit does not apply to mundane weapon attacks, ordinary unarmed strikes, or attacks that are not produced by a cursed technique or class feature.
Whenever you deal damage with a cursed technique or class feature while inside this Domain, the damage increases by 6d6 force damage.
In addition, attack rolls you make as part of a cursed technique or class feature gain a +5 bonus.
Guaranteed-Hit
Once during each use of this Domain, when a creature you can see targets you with an attack, you can use your reaction to unleash one attack or damaging cursed technique of your choice against any number of creatures you can see inside the Domain.
Each chosen creature is directly affected by the chosen attack or technique. If the chosen effect normally requires an attack roll, the attack automatically hits. If it normally requires a saving throw, each chosen creature automatically fails the saving throw.
You can exempt any participants of your choice from this feature.
Augmented Perception
While inside your Amplifier Domain, you have advantage on saving throws.
Duration
This Domain takes 1 turn to expand. During that turn, you must channel the Domain without taking any other action and without losing more than half your hit point maximum.
Once manifested, this Domain lasts for up to 2 turns.
You can end this Domain at any time without using an action.
Incomplete Domain Effect
If this Domain is incomplete, its amplified attacks and cursed technique effects cannot affect anything outside the Domain’s area. Any amplified effect that crosses the Domain’s boundary immediately loses its Domain-enhanced properties.
Mise-en-Scène Domain
Examples: Womb Profusion (Kenjaku), Deadly Sentencing (Hiromi Higuruma), Idle Death Gamble (Kinji Hakari)
A Mise-en-Scène Domain imposes a predetermined scenario, role, rule, or sequence of events upon every creature trapped inside it. Once manifested, participants become bound by the conditions, narrative logic, and consequences established by the Domain’s creator.
Domain Condition
When you create this Domain, you must define its condition. The condition must be approved by the DM before it can be used.
The condition can be abstract, ritualistic, competitive, narrative, symbolic, or literal, but it must be clear enough for every participant to understand how it functions.
Regardless of the theme of the Domain, its condition can affect the following categories.
Actions
A Mise-en-Scène Domain can limit a participant’s turn, action, bonus action, reaction, movement, or any specific part of that participant’s action economy.
A participant can proceed normally only if it satisfies the Domain’s condition.
Stats
A Mise-en-Scène Domain can alter one or more defined statistics if its condition is not met. This can include hit points, Armor Class, ability modifiers, saving throws, movement speed, or similar mechanical values.
Possessions
A Mise-en-Scène Domain can directly affect a participant’s possessions as part of the consequence of its condition.
A possession can be anything actively carried, worn, held, stored, or metaphysically attached to the participant. This can include physical objects, such as weapons, armor, backpacks, or organs, as well as abstract possessions, such as hopes, fears, memories, or similar narrative elements approved by the DM.
Law of Equality
The condition applies to every participant, including you.
Every participant is equally affected by the consequences of the condition. Each participant uses its own statistics and bonuses unless those statistics or bonuses are specifically limited, altered, or replaced by the Domain’s condition.
If this Domain is incomplete, its condition cannot affect anything outside the Domain’s area. If a creature leaves the area of an incomplete Mise-en-Scène Domain, it is no longer affected by the Domain’s condition unless the DM determines that a consequence has already fully resolved.
Summoner Domain
Example: Chimera Shadow Garden (Megumi Fushiguro)
Summoner Domains are dark, obscure spaces where the boundary between the summoner, the shadow, and the summoned creature becomes difficult to read. Inside such a Domain, creatures struggle to understand where a summon begins, where it will emerge, and which shadow belongs to the user.
If there is a source of light inside this Domain, its brightness is halved. Darkvision does not function inside this Domain.
Participants
When this Domain manifests, each creature inside its area becomes a participant. If the Domain is complete, participants cannot leave the Domain by nonmagical means.
Shikigami Mastery
If you can summon shikigami or similar bound summons, you can summon up to three shikigami as a bonus action while this Domain persists. You can command those shikigami as part of the same bonus action.
You can command all your shikigami as a bonus action on each of your turns. When commanded in this way, each commanded shikigami can move and take one action, one bonus action, and one reaction before the start of your next turn.
If one of your shikigami is reduced to 0 hit points and dematerializes while this Domain persists, you can immediately summon it again without using an action and without expending any additional resource.
Shadow Versatility
As a bonus action while this Domain persists, you can create up to three shadow copies of yourself. These copies are identical to you in appearance, but they cannot cast spells or use cursed techniques.
The copies can move and make attacks, but their attacks deal no damage. Commanding the copies does not require an action, and you decide how they move within the Domain.
Each copy has AC equal to your Armor Class and 1 hit point. A copy disappears if it takes any damage.
As an action, you can switch places with one of your copies.
Shadow Guard
When you are targeted by an attack while this Domain persists, you can use your reaction to command your shadow to defend you. You must choose how the shadow defends you before you know whether the attack hits.
Once per Domain Expansion, you can cause your shadow to fully block the triggering attack, causing the attack to miss.
Alternatively, you can use your reaction to gain a bonus to your AC against the triggering attack equal to twice your Intelligence modifier. You can use this option any number of times while the Domain persists, provided you have your reaction available.
Wall Step
If this Domain is complete, you can teleport through its walls. While touching the Domain’s barrier, you can spend movement to teleport to another point on the barrier that you can see or have previously touched.
Each foot you teleport in this way costs 1 foot of movement. You cannot teleport in this way if you have no movement remaining.
Augmented Perception
While inside your Summoner Domain, you have advantage on saving throws.
Duration
This Domain takes 1 turn to expand. During that turn, you must channel the Domain without taking any other action and without losing more than half your hit point maximum.
Once manifested, this Domain lasts for up to 4 turns.
You can end this Domain at any time without using an action.
Incomplete Domain Effect
If this Domain is incomplete, its shadows, copies, summons, and other in-Domain effects cannot affect anything outside the Domain’s area. Any Domain-created shadow effect that crosses the Domain’s boundary immediately loses its Domain-enhanced properties.
Soul Manipulation Domain
Example: Self-Embodiment of Perfection (Mahito)
Soul Manipulation Domains are among the most eerie and repulsive Domain Expansions a Curse Sorcerer can manifest. They allow the user to interfere with the soul directly, twisting the body through the shape of the soul itself.
Forced Morphos
As a bonus action while this Domain persists, you touch one creature within your reach. The target must possess a soul in the traditional sense, as determined by the DM.
The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 4d10 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus force damage.
If the damage reaches or exceeds a threshold determined by the DM, you can morph the touched body part into another form of similar size and proportion. The new form must follow the rules of the morphing effect established by the DM and cannot create an entirely separate creature.
If you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with this feature, you can use Shrink.
Shrink
When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points using Forced Morphos, you can shrink the creature into a small tangible mass with a humanoid face. This mass is called a Soul Lump.
A Soul Lump weighs 2 lb. (1 kg). You can carry as many Soul Lumps as your body reasonably allows.
Whether you are inside a Domain Expansion or not, you can throw and command up to ten Soul Lumps without using an action. When commanded, each Soul Lump transforms into an object or structure of your choice that fits within a space no larger than about 530 cubic feet (15 cubic meters).
Don’t Move
As an action while this Domain persists, you pin chosen participants using thematic structures created by the Domain. This feature is considered a Guaranteed-Hit.
Because this feature is a Guaranteed-Hit, it does not require an attack roll. The Domain’s structures automatically reach the chosen targets, but each target must still make a Strength saving throw.
On a failed save, a target is stunned until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, the target is restrained until the end of its next turn.
Augmented Perception
While inside your Soul Manipulation Domain, you have advantage on saving throws.
If this Domain is incomplete, its morphing effects and Soul Lump transformations cannot affect anything outside the Domain’s area. Any Domain-created morphing effect that crosses the Domain’s boundary immediately loses its Domain-enhanced properties.
Time-Warping Domain
Examples: Unlimited Void (Satoru Gojo), Time Cell Moon Palace (Naoya Zenin)
Time-Warping Domains distort the flow of time within the enclosed area. Inside the Domain, creatures lose their connection to sequence, reaction, and consequence, allowing the user to move with impossible precision.
Temporal Collapse
When this Domain manifests, each creature inside the Domain other than you must make a Wisdom saving throw with disadvantage.
On a failed save, a creature suffers the Halt condition.
On a successful save, the creature is restrained until the start of its next turn.
Halt
A creature suffering from Halt is removed from the normal flow of time. While halted, the creature cannot move, take actions, take bonus actions, or take reactions. Its turn is skipped, except for the saving throw it makes to end the condition.
Damage and external effects applied to a halted creature do not take effect immediately. Instead, record all damage, conditions, forced movement, and other external effects that would affect the creature while it is halted.
At the start of the halted creature’s turn, before its turn is skipped, it repeats the Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, Halt ends, and all recorded damage and effects immediately affect the creature at once. The creature then takes the rest of its turn normally if it is still able to do so.
On a failed save, the creature remains halted, and its turn is skipped.
Halt ends automatically when the Domain ends.
Accelerated User
While this Domain persists, your speed is tripled. This multiplication applies after all other bonuses or penalties to your speed.
Your movement does not provoke opportunity attacks while you are inside the Domain.
You can use your abilities normally while inside the Domain.
Guaranteed-Hit
Any attack you make against a halted creature is treated as a direct hit. You do not make an attack roll against the target. Instead, the target immediately takes the damage and effects the attack would deal on a hit.
Augmented Perception
While inside your Time-Warping Domain, you have advantage on saving throws.
If this Domain is incomplete, its speed, Halt, and time-warping effects cannot affect anything outside the Domain’s area. Any time-warping effect that crosses the Domain’s boundary immediately loses its Domain-enhanced properties.

Posted Aug 4, 2026Is there any way to recover uses for the domain expansion or is it meant to have a limited ammount of uses in your lifetime? Also, what about domain clashes?

Posted Sep 6, 2026You regain your domain uses each level up. So let's say you use your domain at level 5, you can't use it again for as long as you are level five but then when you reach level 6, you're able to use your domain again.
