You are terrified of lightning and violent electrical displays. Small static shocks and harmless sparks unsettle you, but crackling arcs of magical lightning and thunderous storms fill you with dread. The sound of thunder makes your heart race, and the sight of electrical discharges causes instinctive panic.
- At the start of your turn, when you are within 30ft of an active source of lightning or electrical discharge of Large size or greater, such as a raging storm, a sustained lightning effect, or a powerful electrical construct, you must make a DC15 Wisdom saving throw, or become frightened of the source for 1 minute. You may repeat this saving throw at the end of each of your turns.
- Succeeding on this throw makes you immune to further saving throws for that source. Brief electrical effects, such as those created by magical spells with an “Instantaneous” duration, do not count for the purposes of this check.
- Whenever you, or any creature within 5ft of you takes lightning damage, you must make a Wisdom saving throw with a DC equal to the lightning damage dealt. On a failure, you suffer disadvantage on your next attack roll or ability check made before the end of your next turn.
- Whenever you are subjected to an effect that continuously courses lightning through your body, shocks you repeatedly, or leaves you electrically charged at the DM’s discretion, you must spend your next action attempting to escape, ground yourself, or end the effect by any means necessary. While affected in this way, you cannot take bonus actions or reactions.
- You are distrustful of those who wield destructive lightning magic around you.
FLAW. This is a flaw feat. At your DM’s discretion, you may take this feat at level 1. If you do, you may also gain a feat, or increase two of your ability scores by +1 (or one by +2).
