As an action, you can use your long, sticky tongue to lick a willing or incapacitated creature, a fresh corpse (dead for no longer than 1 minute), or a magical plant/item within 10 feet of you. You absorb one specific trait, resistance, or minor ability of your target (determined by the DM) for 1 minute.
Whenever you use this ability, you must immediately roll a DC 12 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, your tongue swells up; you still gain the ability, but you cannot speak or cast spells with verbal components for the 1-minute duration.
