You have learned to sense and manipulate the energy flowing through your body, unlocking the first stage of your true potential.

Through intense training or life-threatening combat, you awaken your inner ki and gain access to basic energy control techniques.

Benefits

You gain a pool of ki equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended ki when you finish a long rest.

Your ki save DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.

You learn two Ki Techniques of your choice from the list below:

• Energy Strike. When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can expend 1 ki point to deal an additional 1d6 force damage.
• Ki Burst. As an action, you can expend 1 ki point to force creatures within 10 feet of you to make a Strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away from you.
• Focused Step. As a bonus action, you can expend 1 ki point to take the Dash or Disengage action.
• Guard Aura. As a bonus action, you can expend 1 ki point to gain a +1 bonus to AC until the start of your next turn.
