While you are wielding only one melee weapon in one hand and your other hand is empty, you gain the following benefits:
- Your speed increases by 10 feet.
- Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with that weapon, you deal an extra 1d4 damage of the weapon's type.
You lose these benefits if you:
- wield a shield,
- wield another weapon,
- or hold an object in your free hand.
